1940s Chevron Beret - red
Gorgeous and lovingly hand crafted beret with contrast chevron detail created here in Yorkshire and based on an original - pairs perfectly with any red heavy twill garments including new 1940s Rosie trousers and Bergman Jacket to create the elegant 1940s suited look!
It would have been unusual for one to 'walk out' without a hat of some sort in the 1940s. These days we reserve hats for the races or a wedding. The perfect topper for any outfit and super elegant - once you have worn this beauty a few times you will understand why the hat was so revered.
Although berets were common in the 30s and 40s - styles were often developed into elaborate styles to emulate hats but created in coordinating fabrics. This style is based on the classic 1940s beret, but slightly raised and is also finished with an extra strip of the same fabric with contrast ivory trim and top stitch.
Versatile style - place the detailed section at front side or the back.
Made by a skilled and experienced local seamstress and friend of Foxy - these are limited edition and the polar opposite to mass produced.
