1940s 'Girl Friday' Dress - Rust
A winning combination of top quality craftmanship combined with a plethora of authentic features. Prepare to feel like a princess!
This is a super flattering cut based on early 1940s styles - where the higher neckline became fashionable paired with strong shoulders and a nipped in waist. This dress has been designed to be as faithful as possible to these late 1930s and wartime styles. This is a strong and authentic silhouette.
You will notice the lovely style details of the shirring at the shoulder and the pleats under the bust that flow into the V shape waist panel. This has a real figure enhancing effect. Sleeves are short with a strong shoulder shape enhanced by the gathers at sleeve head combined with a small shoulder pad. High neckline style will turn into a high slight cowl and there is a keyhole and button fastening at the back.
Skirt is standard 1940s length - reaching safely below the knees on most (approx 28 inches from natural waist). This 7 panel skirt has a lovely sweep, skirt is lined and there is a side zip.
