Another faithful reproduction 1940s dress based on a CC41 original and packed with stunning authentic vintage details. Part of the 2024 Goodwood Revival Collection, this is a stunning, authentic 1940s inspired Tea Dress perfect for the famous vintage car festival. 

A winning combination of experienced and authentic pattern cutting with attention to detail and topped off with a vintage style fabric that behaves as it should. Another dress that we have not held back on detail with.

This is a very flattering cut which is heavily based on a CC41 style from the designers own collection. The neckline style combined with the sleeves creates the a classic wartime, early 1940s silhouette..

Dress has a demure 'squared' neckline enhanced by faux bow/tab sections on each shoulder (perhaps not very clear on the photo). Gathers under bust creates a flattering line into a slimming fit around the waist through the fitted waistband. With a sweeping 7-gore skirt to float you through any tea dance. 

Sleeves are extra special.... VERY late 30s/40s design in order to reflect the strong shoulder styles of the time. Gathered at the sleeve head and designed with a slight pouch created by 3 stitched tucks. Shape of neckline & sleeves create the silhouette aspired to in the late 30s and early 40s where there was an emphasis on the shoulders.

The fabrics is a mid weight 100% rayon (viscose) and as such gathers beautifully into yokes and under bust - is similar to the fabrics worn at this time.

Washing instructions: dry clean only (we recommend dry cleaning due to the bias cut panels in the skirt which can become mis-shapen after washing and in particular line drying)
