Sometimes we ask for you to indulge us...and the 1940s Siren Suit is one of the times. 

A bit of history... The Siren Suit was created as a fashion response to the time of crisis from 1939 onwards. As named because it was designed to be worn over pyjamas, nightgowns or other daywear when the siren sounded. These were one piece, zip fronted and sometime with a hood. We are reminded again that the wearing of trousers by women in the early 1940s was a very significant fashion development.

But we just loved the challenge of creating an 'overall' that could still be elegant and stylish. We like to think we have done well and this new suit was so exciting to create - we enjoyed every minute of its development.

The details... front zip and hood. Long sleeves and a wide trouser with front pleat and side pockets. The bodice brings us much joy with its star bust pleat detail. Ands lets not forget the shoulder pads - which really brings the 1940s silhouette to life.

We've also added a touch of elastic to the back waist for ease of fit.
