A fantastic cardigan heavily inspired by the 'Datemaker' style very popular in the early and mid 1940s. Based on a knitwear pattern from the 1940s, you cant get more wartime 1940s than this beauty!

This lovely cardigan is the perfect partner for vintage style separates and dresses alike.

Style creates that classic 1940s silhouette with strong squared shoulders and nips in at the waist with adjustable slide belt. Cardigan style is open at the front with rounded neckline. Stitch is a simple wide rib on sleeves and main body with a finer stitch on shoulders which creates a yoke effect. Stitch creates an attractive twist effect on sleeves.

Belt feeds through a bakerlite style buckle at front - requires belt to loop back to secure.

The Datemaker cardigan is my favorite sweater. Love the vintage styling. Pairs well with skirts, pants, and dresses to give your outfit a different look. Love it so much I bought two.

Unfortunately the colour was more of a salmon pink than a beige:( The yarn was slightly itchy and I believe it’s not true to size. I ordered a size medium, but the arms were snug and the belt buckle kept slipping out. Very overpriced for a reproduction!!! Sadly customer care team take too long to refund.

Great for shorter people

This was my first order and I followed the size chart: the width is true to size, but this is not made for my long torso. The belt is high enough on my waist that it can't be worn with high-waisted skirts/trousers, only dresses. The sleeves are that awkward in-between length of not full-length and not three-quarter length, so I added a cuff to the bottom to make them full-length. I do like the fabric and texture in the knitting. Overall, it's a nice sweater, but I won't be able to get as much wear out of this as I was hoping.

Lovely cardigan

True to size and to colour, this cardigan highlights the waist nicely. The belt comes undone after a while (despite having looped it back), but it's a simple matter of tying it back again, and not much of a bother. If you have a larger bust, note that not much fabric will cover it, which I personally don't mind in this style, but if you think you would, you might want to size up.

Warm and lovely

This cardigan is very elegant and comfortable. The color is very chic. I ordered a size small and it's perfect to wear above another piece of clothes (I'm usually a HOF size 8).
