Have just worn these plus fours for the first time today and have to say that they are the most flattering trousers I’ve ever owned. The combination of the high waist and buttons up side closure create the perfect flat front (no bulkiness at all, even with a blouse tucked in). I love them paired with a knitted tank top, brogues and the matching jacket. Was hesitant about buying them as I’ve never worn this style of trouser before but am really pleased I did. Looking forward to trying them out with a fairiske sweater and long lace up boots next. I am a size 8 and find these to be the perfect fit.

hey do not offer much stretch like the other reviews have mentioned. I am on the fuller size of a size 10 and they are snug on.

I've wanted some plus-fours forever so I was really excited when these came online! As with everything else HoF I found them incredibly well-made. I'd say they fit true to size but without much wiggle room, as they have no stretch and if you're an hourglass the hips are fairly snug. But they look wonderful on! The adjustable cuffs are also helpful because my thighs have quite a bit of muscle.
I was very pleased that they're fully lined, as my skin is sensitive to wool; they feel silky inside and don't rub.
I got the matching waistcoat, and the whole outfit looks fab with boots or sensible oxfords - they work equally well whether you're wearing them in the country or the city!

I hesitated before buying these trousers because they were so different to anything I have worn before but I am so pleased to have bought them. I wear long boots and wellies a lot and they are so much more comfortable and stylish than tucking in trousers! The fabric and cut is beautiful. There isn't much 'give'; I am a smallish size 10 and the 10 is a perfect fit. No side pockets but a handy back pocket.
